Women self help groups continue to function despite the withdrawal of Mahalir Thittam, a scheme of TN government.
The ICICI bank came forward to extend credit facility to our groups. So far Rs 7, 23, 66,820 /- has been distributed as loan to our groups. There are 212 groups availed this benefit in this financial year.
Fisher folk empowerment programme
This programme is supported by Siemenpuu Foundation , Finland since 2012. This year witnessed awareness programmes were held for the fisher folks of Ramnad and Tuticorin on marine fishing rights & acts ,marine resources and also on marine conservation. More over the sensitization on Tamilnadu and Government of India’s fisher workers welfare schemes
Friends of Poor in South India , UK is supporting Fisher women income generation activities since2010. This year 25 families were given solar lamps- who are living near seashore in Dhanushkodi area of Rameswaram islands.
This year the childline activities witnessed progress in number of interventions – which prevented Child labour, child abuse and child marriages.
National Environment Awareness Campaign
This action programme was presided by Mrs.L Annammal, Vice president of local fisher men association, Mr.S.Karuppasamy, Director of TRRM welcomed the gathering.
Mr. B .Fareeth Rahman of Young famer’s Club inaugurated the herbal expo. Dr M.R .Kalimuthu of Sugam Vaidyasalai and Sugam Research Centre, Pattinam kathan has planted the herbs and also conducted free medical camp with herbal medicines by the local women.
Free distribution of a booklet on herbs in Tamil and free distribution of herbal plants were the high lights of the function.

Out sourcing services in Government Hospital
As a part of ensuring new born child care, TRRM has extended its man power (3 Ayahs,3 security guards) in New born child care unit, Government General Hospital ,Ramanathapuram.

Open heart surgeries for poor children
TRRM has extended its services to needy children who were suffering from congenital heart diseases by referring them to M/s. Saravana Multi speaciality Hospital, Madurai – who executed free open heart surgeries. So far three children were operated free of cost in this reporting period
UNICEF Child rights conference at Chennai
TRRM ensured its presences by participating the UNICEF sponsored two days child rights conference held at Chennai on 18th &19th February 2015.Nearly 40 persons representing NGOs , Child rights groups took part in this conference. The role of TRRM in focusing child abuses and child marriages enlightened the audience to sharpen their resolution to press for child rights.
Higher education Programme for SC & ST students
TRRM in association with AGHAM foundation Chennai , conducted motivation programme for SC-ST students to avail Government Schemes it to continue their higher education in colleges (Both arts & since and technical) On 12th june 2015.
Nearly 250 students along with their parents took part in this programme. As a result of our efforts, ten student joined in colleges.
Training programme on children affected by HIV/AIDS
Madurai institute of social sciences conducted three days training programme for government and NGO functionaries on their role in rehabilitation of children affected and infected by HIV/ AIDS on 27 th to 29th September 2014.TRRM represented Ramanathapuram Child rights groups.

The IUCN sponsored work shop on living resources of Palk bay and Gulf of Mannar at Tuticorin on 12th November 2014.Had invited TRRM to elicit its views on the current issues of Palk bay and Gulf of Mannar region. TRRM Director took part and presented its group discussion outcomes.
